Gilded Rocaille Canopy Bed
Drawing from 18th-century French decorative furniture and Rococo-influenced interiors, this bed combines an elaborately carved frame with a dramatic upholstered headboard and suspended canopy.
The headboard follows a deeply curved profile, surrounding a button-tufted upholstered panel and rising into an extensive carved crest. The central composition features scrolling foliage, rocaille forms and symmetrical foliate ornament, creating a strong decorative focal point above the bed. The footboard continues the same vocabulary with a large open carved panel filled with scrolling foliage and shell-like motifs, framed by moulded rails and turned corner details.
A domed canopy crown rises above the headboard, supporting layered gathered drapery that falls around the bed in a theatrical arrangement. The gilded finish highlights the carved relief, while the darker upholstery and drapery provide contrast.
Suitable for formal master bedrooms, grand residences, classical suites, heritage-inspired interiors and statement hospitality spaces.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to complement the desired finish and interior scheme.
